As the representatives of the ancient civilizations of the East and the West, China and Greece both have a brilliant history and profound culture.The people of the two countries enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges. Greece is not only an important partner in Belt and Road cooperation but also a significant member participating in China-CEEC Cooperation Mechanism. China and Greece have conducted extensive and mutually beneficial cooperation in transportation, energy, information and communications, finance and other fields and delivered fruitful outcomes. In 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Greece and promoted the comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level and stepped up China-Greece cooperation with down-to-earth efforts under the Belt and Road Initiative to new breakthroughs.
At present, China is speeding up the building of a new development pattern with domestic circulation as the main body and domestic and international circulation mutually reinforcing. Greece is actively promoting the "Greece 2.0" plan for recovery and transformation. China-Greece economic, trade and investment cooperation faces new important development opportunities. The Economic and Commercial Office is ready to take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries to further bridge the economic and trade exchanges so as to jointly create a bright future for China-Greece economic and trade relations in the post-epidemic era.
